It may take a while for her legs to feel and look less irritated...she probably damaged some of the surface skin and this will take some time to shed and renew. In the meantime, get some hydrocortisone cream and rub it on her legs - rub it in good so that she can't lick it up. Vets sometimes prescribe things for irritated skin so you may want to ask if there is something stronger you could use. Muciprocin (sp?) is sometimes given.
