Has anyone actually found out their yorkie was mixed with silky. I'm just curious as to anyone that has questioned their furbaby breed actually found that they were mixed with a silky.
I just find it odd that Silky Terrier is a breed people associate with a yorkie that doesn't fit their idea of how it should look when Silky not that popular a breed. It'd be much easier for me to get a hold of a yorkie than a silky and don't see people going through the trouble just to pass one off as the otherMost often it's because of size that people question it.
Tonight Draco was questioned because he has a silky coat. He's in a training class at Petsmart, and that was the trainers remark. She's a nice girl, and I didn't really feel like going into detail with her. But I was just a little surprised that it was her reason, when any breed book tells you that Yorkies have silky coats.
It only came up by comparison of another Yorkie puppy we saw in her other class. He's 4months already the size of Draco and looks super fluffy like a cute teddy bear so I think he'll turn out cottony coated. She compared him to Draco and said Draco reminded her of a silky terrier, I really want to brush it off that she probably just sees more cotton coated Yorkies with short hair coming in for grooming, whereas I'm growing Draco's out.
