Yazmin's just turned 3 and has began licking more often when she's tired. I too believe it's a comforting thing and reminds me of a baby sucking on a pacifier.
I do love my baby but there's times the constant licking can be slightly irritating to my skin. There's times I'll tell her "Okay, no more kisses" to redirect her attention and she'll stop.
