As for the elevated BUN I would try to relax and see what the next one is. Maybe if it is still elevated it is time to see a specialist...ask your vet about that.
Apparently this can be indicative of a GI bleed or ulcer, so he's on carfate. I wi be out of town and cant make it in a week for a recheck. But I was so in shock when they told me that I didnt even mention his diet. The tech is who gave us the news as the vet was in emergency surgery. I called today and waiting on a call back, he's still in surgery.
