Evie vomiting her food Hello. I'm new to the Yorkie forum and have a question I'm hoping to get help with:
My Evie is 9 1/2 months old and weighs 2 pounds 7 ounces. We have had her since January when she was 7 months old. The lady we got her from feeds her Yorkie's Life's Abundance. We transitioned her to Royal Canin Yorkie puppy food for the first few weeks we had her (mixed the Life's Abundance we got from her other mommy with the Royal Canin). Once she was transitioned over totally to the Royal Canin, she has had no problems (pooping, peeing okay, likes the food, eats when fed, etc.). For the past week to 10 days though, she has vomited quite a few times. Mostly it has been a glob of the her chewed up food, one time it was basically a glob of the whole food pieces (sometimes she has a habit of 'inhaling' each piece of food, rather than chewing it.) A time or two, it was just brown, liquidy type fluid (not the yellow bile stuff that I've seen mentioned on the earlier threads). There is no rhyme or reason as to when/why she vomits. Two times she woke up in the middle of the night and vomited, last night she was lying on my lap on the couch and got sick, and a few other just 'random' times throughout the day/evening.
I'm curious what you all may think? I had her spayed on February 20 and she had no troubles after her surgery (they even removed 6 baby teeth, and she was actually eating better {as far as actually chewing her food, rather than swallowing a piece whole}, up until this started. The vet said her bloodwork was fine when she was spayed.
Other than the occasional vomiting, she acts fine....still loves to go outside, still chases and plays with my cat, still loves to play fetch with me, still acts happy and loving.
Obviously, I will take her to the vet if needed, but would like to get some thoughts first. Thanks so much! Melissa and Evie |
