For tiny dogs - it's better to keep them until 12 weeks actually. Don't know why your breeder thought it'd be better at 8 weeks - that's too young according to most reputable, long-standing breeders for yorkies. Also, it's better for their socialization/learning that they stay w/ their Mom/litter until 12 weeks, as I understand it.
