Yes, but the iMessage only working with other Apple products such as iPad, iPhone and MacBooks. I wanted to be able to use my iPad to send SMS to my friends that don't have iMessage (Galaxy, Android etc). I downloaded the free version of TEXTIE and it actually works really well. It syncs with both my iPad and iPhone. The other person does not need the APP like Whatsapp and the texts go thru so far without issue. The only downside is you can't send picture messages.
