I also think it depends on the health of your dog and what parts of pork you feed. I have to say it's one of my boys favourite. They go mental when I bring out a slab or pork brisket or some pork ribs. Also I'm feeding organically raised free range pork.
Dogs do need some fat in their diet but I do trim anything I view as excessive.
Pork is also a much less expensive red meat.
Anything from the shops is likely enhanced which I am sure to avoid.
The best thing about a rib bone is it's the perfect size and softness for chewing and knawing once all the meat is gone. My butcher now asks when I buy them if it's for me or the dogs.
