Hello all! We had just gotten Oshie on March 9 2014. He is almost 12 weeks, he was born on Christmas day! His first vet visit was that Wednesday. We had brought a stool sample in and the vet determined he had giardia which came from his breeder. He was prescribed the metronidazle and the panacur. The panacur we started him on right away. The metronidazle we just got yesterday. I am a bit of a hypochondriac so that is why I am here.
Oshie doesn't have a set pooping schedule and only went once yesterday (which was in his crate around 930). We stopped feeding him at 730 and we crated him at 9 right after we tried to make him go potty. He didn't have to so we put him in the crate. Half hour later we woke up to him whining and poop in his crate.
He is being feed Nutri source small breed which was the food his breeder had him on. We feed him 4 times a day. Once at 5 am, another between 11-12, again at 4-5, and at 7-730. We also give him Nutri cal 4 times a day. He eats pretty well, some times a few bits sometimes a handful it just varies.
Is this normal that he doesn't poop almost immediately (5 - 45 mins) after his meals like i've read puppies should? Do you think this is caused by him having Giardia? He's been pooping in his crate at night for the past few days. Even though we try to make him go potty right before he goes to bed. He does pee normally though.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
