We don't have a lot of opportunity to socialize with other dogs, but when we do, I'm glad my boys are neutered. We encountered a little Maltese girl recently and her human would not let us approach until I confirmed my dogs are neutered.
I agree with others above that it is not a decision to be taken lightly.
