Maltese, please don't be insulted, but on a human level....someone I know had a hip replacement and they went to some county hospital here in NJ. It was a fine hospital but I could never understand why they didn't go to the hospitals in Philly. It was a complicated hip replacement and I was surprised. Local doctors can be great, my dad was one and he saved a lot of people, but there are times when you have to call in the big guns. He has some symptoms now that even the the big hospitals can't figure out. Sometimes a dr just can't solve it alone. If I were sick I would want to see the best of the best, not just the best in my town. I think people are telling you that as great as your vet may be, that her resources are more limited, and often multiple consults are needed on a case.
Btw, Maggie has had bouts of what look like colitis, mucous blobs in her poo. Usually only a few times and usually after stressful situations or new foods.
Folks here really do mean well. They are more concerned about your pup, however, than your feelings. As you said, take from their comments what you need and disregard the rest. Some of them really know a LOT, they rescue and save some very sick dogs at much of their own expense. Their experience can be very valuable. I post on another site (non pet) and the some of the people there are very judge mental and must all have perfect honorable moral lives and children. I try to ignore them too! |
