I asked Buddy Belt about water and the BB2. They said their testing showed it would not lose color or change shape. Lay flat to dry. However, the metal hardware will likely tarnish if exposed to salt water and maybe some chlorinated waters.
(For leather BBs, do not expose to heat/intense sun while drying. Leather will shrink.)
