I think it all just depends on the dog. Mine is female and loves to be cuddled unless she is angry or mad. She was 4 or 5 months old when I got her. You might want to look at adult dogs to get what you want whether it's a retired breeder or a rescue. If you do get a mix though please rescue one because reputable breeders don't breed mixes.
