LOL You should be thankful you weren't born in Asia than. Asian women (Koreans/Chinese/etc) are expected to live with the husband's family after marriage. They are also expected to take over any house work like cooking and cleaning. Thankfully, this "tradition" is changing or at least that's what I'm hearing.
There IS a reason for this way of living but then, I'd be blabbing about the entire history so I'll just stop here. 
It's really expensive to live here too.  But I don't want to move to anywhere else. I wish more people would move away instead. LOL |
Yes Vegas is that much cheaper! There are single family homes starting in the low $100s. Decent homes in a nicer area like what we got is $200-300. There are some much more but are custom homes or mansions in The Lakes area in the millions. Then there are the high end condos/apts on the Strip. But that is totally not my thing.
As for the Asian thing, yes my mom had to do that. Even though they moved here back in the 70s, the tradition was the same. My grandma drove my mom crazy a bunch of times. My grandma was REALLY bossy, then after she started getting senile, she turned super nice.
