Creepy and scary! Maybe the string was wound too tightly and the screw suddenly gave way and it spring loose. Or something fell against it. I know things just loose position and fall. I'm always finding things I've stacked or leaned in my hobby room have come undone, lost position or fallen over - sometimes in the middle of the night or when I'm alone and I hear the bump or crash! Other times they fall and I never hear and just find the mess. Hopefully it was just something like that!
