Windows 8 does suck, but there are programs out there that can make your computer look/feel like XP
One is Classic Shell, and I forget the other one I have I think it might be Kill Start Screen or something like that. The only way Win8 is good is if you get a touch screen. I got my laptop Christmas 2012 and HATED 8!!! So just google for help on "defeating" that annoying start screen and you should be fine.
