Mocha learned to bark around 6 months. The trainer told us to put an immediate stop to it by telling him "bad boy" and "no". He soon realized that barking is a bad thing and doesn't bark any longer. He would bark on very rare occasions, maybe less than once a month.

If you're looking for a "guard" dog that alerts you when there's people approaching or other noises, then allow her to bark. But if you don't want that, this is the perfect time to train. Once they learned to bark, then it is difficult to change later on.
