Doggie designers use different size charts, so don't rely on sizes that you have bought before (unless it is from the same designer).
Chest measurement is most important (unless an unusually large neck breed). With clothes, you want a little extra room for comfort and potential shrinkage when washed.
Also pay close attention to the size chart -- are the measurements of the actual product, or the dog they fit?
