I guess on average it's about 4x a day. Jackson is 5, neutered, and 17lbs.

He can hold it forever overnight. On weekends he often holds it from 11pm - noon the next day and is still not a hurry to rush outside when I finally let him out.

So it's when we wake up (average 8:30/9am), and then usually again around 1pm. Then again around dinner time (5 pm or 6pm or so). And then before bed so anywhere from 10pm- midnight depending on when I need to be up the next AM.
