I adopted Cody 3 months ago, he is 2 y/o and was house broken and leash trained. To make pee pee & poo poo I didn't know if these words were the words the prev. owner used, when I took him home the day I adopted him I took him straight to the back yard, (Cody was a surrender, my vet works with a rescue team, all rescued dogs go to vet for check up, Cody had a 2 hour drive from NY where he lived to Pa. where I live, he spent 2 nights in a crate at the vet before he came to me, his forever home, being with strangers, in a place that had scary smells, placed in a crate for 2 days & 2 nights, listening to cats & dogs barking and crying, then comes with me a total stranger, rides in car & gets car sick I knew before I put him down on floor in my house he would have to make, so out to the yard he went) when he did his pee pee I did the happy dance, clapping and praising, using the word pee pee, when he made poo poo the same thing, me dancing, clapping hands using the word poo poo. The prev. owner told the rescue team she wanted to be kept informed about the dog, I emailed, and called and received no response. After 2 weeks I get a call (sending before loosing)
wow happy ending for Cody I also took one older yorkie in once the owners loved him so much every time I emailed and called for updates they would answer and be so happy. Turns out he had cancer and had to be put down one year later I still remember him all the time and think of him. He was a great dog!
