How about a little fabric muzzle while she's outside? I would think its worst if you miss her swallowing something and having to do surgery to remove. My vet uses it when he's pulling blood and they don't mind it. Also I had a friend who's dog would catch frogs looks like one day she bit a toxic one and died she was 1 years old.
