It helps to shave the underbelly, even up to where the belly band would wrap around the bottom. It won't look funny. I shave my girls' & guys' underbelly all the way up to their chest in the summer time bc it gets so hot & humid here.

His underbelly is shaved. It is the hair on his back that is dry. I know there is some kind of conditioner that will help. Thanks though. Come summer the hair is coming off if I can't get it back to good condition. It isn't matted, I comb and brush him daily.
