my suggestion would be time. but also your sure his anal glands are not full? sometimes they get real shaky and strange when they need them expressed. just a thought.

my lola did not come from a good situation...it took 6 months for her to bark...and let's see almost two years for her to let me rub her belly and she does still jump or freak at sounds she is not familiar with. I find picking her up and showing her where the noise is coming from sometimes helps while soothing her as best as possible. I know when she needs her anal glands expressed because she will ride her butt on the floor or hide in the laundry room or my closet....I have blankets out for her in this spots as they are also her safe havens for when she is scared along with her stroller.

time and more time to learn to trust you. welcome to yt and hope this might help a little bit.
