Do you trim the hair short on the very tip his penis? I keep that hair very short on Tibbe and clip is each week or so. Also if that hair isn't kept very clean, the hairs can clump together and harden and partially block or misdirect the urine flow I would imagine.
If urine is spraying out in odd directions, it also sounds as if something could be in or near the opening of the urethra to cause the spray to be misdirected or the urethra is just malformed near the opening. There could be a tiny cyst growling or stone lodged in the urethra close or near the opening that is causing this unwanted effect. Maybe you could let the vet check his urethra just to be sure all is normal.
