No, my dog began showing symptoms of MVD when he was 3 -4 years(pretty healthy until then) but Tibbe was a kind of a rescue in a way at 9 mos. of age when I got him, so I knew I could likely be getting a dog with congenital health problems lurking and I could tell from the moment I saw him, 9 mos. in a cage under an outside shed had left him with many behavioral and fear issues.
But good vetting, proper care and training have remade him into a lovely, happy, frisky, well-behaved pet with only the occasional nausea, spitting up from his liver condition and virtually zero behavior problems now.
