Oh, gosh! I'm so glad your little girl pulled through! It is not unusual for them to temporarily lose their vision after an incident like that. Thank God she is OK. Sounds like her best friend is quite a little guy.

It's nice you are able to make a little run for them to go out in. I agree that crushed gravel is not a good idea for their little paws. Some places do make rounded stone in various sizes. You might consider the really small rounded gravel. The rain washes through that and if you have some good earth under it the gravel will stay pretty clean if it is washed. Other than that the only thing I can think of is some good play grass. They have some rugged grasses you can plant but I guess it would be hard to give it a good start growing if they were using it.

Are you going to put a top on the enclosure in order to protect them from theft or escape?
