He does not take preventatives. Heart worms can be found in fecal tests? I thought every worm could be detected in fecal tests except heart worms. I will have to go to the clinic to get that done on Monday just to make sure.

A strain is a good assumption didn't think about that. I hope it's just a strain! Is it possible for the cardboard to be stuck in his intestines ?
