I use PS CS2 all the time. It is amazing! If you're just hoping to do some simple improvements to photos, it's probably a lot more of a program than you'll need. It's a fairly expensive program compared to others out there, so unless you plan to do some serious graphic design work, another program might be a more economical choice. It is a great program though, so if price isn't a consideration for you, I say go for it!

Here is a link to Gimp- a free program that is VERY similar to PS. I am partial to PS, but this is a great program and you can't beat the price!
