We have had our puppy boy for 3 weeks now and I know it does get expensive. But like having a baby or even taking care of yourself, you just have to be smart with your money. There's low cost places for you to get them shots, take time shopping around the get the cheaper price on medications, maintain your dogs yourself so lesser trips to the groomers, etc. And I didn't get Oliver as a puppy hoping he's a puppy forever. Trust me I can't wait to see him as proud and handsome looking adult dog. I just like the fact that we are there every step of the way in his life. Don't hate on people who can't afford to give their dogs the most expensive brand of food or take them to salons. Dogs are dogs, you think without human spending money on them they would die then shouldn't dogs all die off long ago already? In my opinion, what they need the most is love. A homeless man can still have a dog if he wants to as long as he loves the dog as much as he loves himself. Just like people are allowed to have kids even if they are poor. Don't make having a dog become a privilege only for people with money. There are human out there who can't afford to pay for their kids medical bill, can't afford to go to the dentist, etc.

Just get a dog and love him/her, that's what matters. That's all I'm saying.
