Have you considered getting a dremel? I think I'm more scared to cut their nails using a clipper then they are of having their nails done. LOL I tried out my niece's dremel to see if I could handle it and it was a lot easier than I thought. One of the best thing is that there's no danger of cutting their quick. I also use a stocking to keep the hair out of the way. Poke little holes for the nails to slip through and put them on paw. Definitely makes it easier.
If you know someone that has a dremel, maybe you can try it out to see if it's worthwhile?
