 My Me-Me is in ICU with Histoplasmosis in her bood stream
My Me-Me is at UT Vet Medical Hospital with Histoplasmosis in her blood stream. They are giving her anti fungal meds to kill it off. I went last night thinking it was saying goodbye to her since they are finding it everywhere. With her weighing only 2 pounds 14 ounces, it is taking longer getting her dose up without killing her. Me-Me is 9 years old. She looked better than I expected and I am now hopeful that she will be home. I have researched it and found out that this is prevalent in the southern states. It does come from birds and bats, but is in the soil all over. It attacks mostly animals with low immune systems. Me-Me was born with a low immune system and had been on steroids for a long period. She needs lots of prayers. |
