It really depends on the dog...my girls sniff & mark more outside than the boys.

A 30 min walk w/Mimi takes an hour loll. I always have to wash her mouth bc she smells everything.
The water bottles don't encourage leg lifting. Sometimes Turbo still pees w/out lifting his leg but he still goes next to the bottle. It does encourage them to use it & not go anywhere else, it works for us.
