Hard to say without actually seeing it, but Teddy had a little white patch on his ear recently. I think it was dry skin. After cleaning with a damp cotton ball, I put organic coconut oil on it. The patch disappeared in a couple of days.
A tick would likely cause a bump, even if it died and isn't engorged (usually yellow when engorged).
