Default Dew claw

Hello all!
It's been a while, but I need advice from yorkie people

My baby boy has broken his dew claw, it's quite near the base of the nail and has been bleeding. It happened about 3 days ago, and after a google search I decided to leave it and see how he went on. All was fine, except he's caught it again today and it's twisted around . It's stopped bleeding, but this time he's quite obviously miserable, ears back, hiding away and being very clingy at the same time (still eating though!) and just not himself.

I've spoken to the vet and she said I can bring him in if I want, but just to see how he is.
So, I'm asking you wise ones, what would you do?
I'm not sure the vet could clip it off without causing him pain, but then it must be sore catching it all the time. I don't want to stress him out if they vet can't *really* help him.

Puppies!!

Thank you from both of us xx
