Question To those who have boys in a long coat (I'm looking at you Kristen)

How do you keep the hair at the back of the saddle clean and pee free? Toto's coat is getting so nice and long, but everytime he lifts his leg the hair hangs down over the pee stream and gets nasty. Even if I use a baby wipe after his walks, I can still smell the urine. His entire belly is clipped short, only the hair from the top hangs down low.

Now I have tried to put in a mini claw clip on each side to kind of "open the curtains". It kinda works, but the clips don't hold that well so a bunch of times during the walk he quits walking and I have to readjust.

Next time I am going to try ponytails on each side but I want a quick solution I can do up in a few seconds before each walk.

suggestions?
