Chewie is 15 weeks, he'll be 16 next week. I took him to the vet last week and he was weighing in at 5.5 lbs. When we got him (at about 11 weeks) he was 2 lbs. I was amazed how much weight he put on within a month. I don't over feed him either. It is what it is, I guess. If I were to double his weight at 12 weeks that would mean he will top out at 4-5 lbs. Well, he's past that lol. I think he'll be more in the 7-8 lb range if he levels out soon. There's really no way to tell when he'll stop growing. Maybe he's gaining it all fast and will level out at 6 mo. Either way, it doesn't really bother me. As long as he's healthy, I'm happy. I think he's perfect.
I was quite annoyed with a couple at Petco the other day, they had a small Yorkie under 4 pounds. They pointed their noses up at Chewie and said he was too big, he must be a Silky. Whatever. It seems like people are so obsessed with Yorkie size. Everyone is always asking me how much he weighs. When I tell them, they say "he must be full grown". No, I assure you, he's still a puppy. I'm so over the comments and we haven't even had him 2 months lol.
