There is often so much going on, new terminology to learn, multiple appointments, it can get confusing really fast, especially when you get scared and are not feeling well.

As a caregiver I also found it helpful to keep a journal in a calendar book, and I tried to make a personal notation daily of some little thing I was grateful for starting with "Just for today, I ...." . It's funny looking back at those notations which became a "Stop and Smell the Roses" type of reminder, and so many notes were about things related to doggies and puppy kisses.
