But sammons is one of the best cancer centers there is on Texas (second to MD Anderson) and it's a great place to have your surgery. Lumpectomy are often a day surgery, but you'll be there most of the day.
I was going to suggest talking to TXVicki. She helped me a lot when I first got my diagnosis and had my surgery.
Ask your dr about the superglue if they have to do a mastectomy- I was able to have my drains out in a matter of days versus weeks, because of the glue they used to "stitch" me up |
Wow, thank you for all of this information. Ugh - was hoping I could just get it the procedure, wait 2 hours and come home. Superglue! Have heard of it for op wound closure but not in mastectomy cases so will ask - hate stitches and staples. My hip surgeon used dissolving stitches after hip surgery and those were so nice but the glue sounds even better. Glad to hear Sammons is a good place. Everyone I know in Dallas goes there for oncology. Thanks for all your help, Michele. You've given me so much help here.
