Then the news my son unexpectedly passed away. I did what had to be done in a hazzy fog, like it was not me gong through this, ALONE, I had no family left, and friends live to far away. 3 weeks after laying my son to rest I adopted Cody (not a planned my vets gift to me because she knew what loosing my little girl did to me) . He is more then special to me because of the 6 weeks of loneliness I went through, he bought life back to my house that is again A HOME, now filled with life, love, joy, happiness and comfort, Cody indeed RESCUED me, and he is my first lil boy. He came from living in the city, now he will be a country boy, he LOVES running in the yard (which now has 3 feet of snow, so no yard for him, he is confined to deck only) Cody and I are gong to have an awesome summer this year....I would love to hear how you got max, if you have time pls tell me......2 babies lol. Did you post "guess who's 2 weeks old"? they are beautiful babies. Are you planning on keeping the both of them? |
You have certainly been through a lot. You must be such a strong person to go through all you've been through in such a short period of time. I can't imagine how difficult it was for you and I'm so glad that Cody found you ;-)
The story of Max started at a pet shop. We used to have large fish tanks, both fresh and salt water. We were pet shop hopping looking for (or more like evaluating) places that had good healthy fish, preferably both types. We went into a shop and it had a community board, on it a flyer with Max's photo. There wasn't much information, only that it was an owner surrender and the shop owner had agreed to hold onto him for a couple of weeks hoping that one of his customers would be able to take Max. Otherwise, he was going to be turned over to the shelter.
I had 2 medium dogs at the time and had discussed with my husband the potential for a third. We had entertained the idea of getting a small dog, but decided to just wait. The 2 other dogs we had were the Beagle that we still have, and a Basset Hound Rescue that we were still working on a lot of issues with. However, when we saw Max's photo and heard the story, we asked if we could see him. He was so stressed, matted, frantic….I felt so bad for the poor little thing, and the decision was made. Max went home with us and has been a very unique, fun, and loving part of our family ever since
