Huey uses the outside deck (I know that sounds gross, but we don't have a fence & that is the only way I don't have to harness & leash him to go outside & I clean it after each "go"). He also uses potty pads inside when we are gone, and in inclement weather, you know, those days where he looks outside and says, h*** no, I'm not going out there, he goes into the basement/garage & does his business down there. He still has his "accidents", which I am sure are not accidental, but he has gotten a lot better.
When he does make a tootsie roll inside, he will studiously ignore it, walking a wide berth around it & pretending it doesn't exist until someone picks it up.
