Here is what we do twice daily. Morning I put in the top-knot at night it comes out. We've been doing this since he came home so he is used to it. I tell him "head down" and he will lay down and close his eyes. I use the detangling spray after I take the band out. Last photo is all done and now he gets his cookie for being a good boy.
He is laying on one of those neck pillows you buy for long flights. It was a couple of dollars at Wally World.
