Default Greetings from a new yorkie/dachsund mommy

So, I've got a dorkie (although I don't think that's a very nice name, apparently that is what a yorkie/dacshund mix is called).

Her name is Sadie, and she is 5 years old. I have taken her out 3 times so far today to pee, and she has gone each time (about 2 to 2.5 hours apart each time).

I am going to take her out before bedtime, of course, but am wondering how good a dorkie is at holding it all night. We go to bed early at 7:30pm because hubby is on first shift and we are up at 3:30am. I would be able to run her out then if she needed it. Can she comfortably go 8 hours at night without peeing?

I do have a doggie pad set up in a little cat litter pan by the door. No cat litter, just the pan with the pad. This is my first dog (before apartment living didn't allow for a dog in our area), and she was previously owned by an elderly person, I believe. She was surrendered last month to our local shelter and I just found her today.

She's settling into our house quite well. Already snoozing away in dad's chair quite comfortably, and loves sitting on laps. Doesn't bother our cats but the cats aren't quite sure about her yet and therefore hiding out in my oldest son's large bedroom.

I welcome any advice, tidbits.
