No, he is terrible about being brushed. Normally, I would use a comb on his face. But he knew he was in trouble for the mud so he didn't put up a fight. He did not try to bite this brush like he does when I use the slicker brush. Much better experience!
I agree about the coat finish. I was really impressed with how long the sheen lasted after his brushing. Usually he looks like a wild man again within a few minutes of brushing.
