Usually only large, deep-chested dogs get the volvulus or twisting with the exception of the deep-chested Dachshund and I knew that but almost every time Tibbe would get bad gas that lasted over 2 or 3 hours, we went to the vet for a check-up until his two vets let me know he was not having any of the other torsion symptoms and why most small dogs are rarely affected. But I still worry and watch him closely for symptoms of AB if he has gas.
