Hi jewelfry - I brought my Gizmo home at 8 weeks and he is doing fine. I divided his crate into his bed and a pee pad. He automatically took to the pad and did not pee on his blanket. I stayed home with him for two weeks straight and took him to the pad in his crate every hour or so. I always could tell when he had to poop cuz he would do his circle dance. About 1 1/2 weeks I put a pee pad in the bathroom and he has been going ever since. His crate is now just his bed. I still walked him to the pad for the for a couple of weeks so he would learn. He does have an occasional accidentsbecause we didn't change the pad sooner, but they are always in the bathroom near the pad. He did have two off nights where he peed in his crate, not sure why but he's back on track now.

He does have issues with biting and I am working with him. He is at the point where he will play bite and once in a while he'll get carried away and bite me. I tell him No Bite and I push him away and ignore him for a minute or two and that seems helps.

Chewing on the rug is more of a challenge, but I keep on him. It's kind of funny cuz when I tell him No Bite when he's bitting he'll walk away and then walk over to rug and run away very quickly. It's like he thinks "oh I want to bite it so bad, but I can't so I better step away!"

Good luck with your new baby. Gizmo is my first Yorkie also.
