Does Gizmo still want to nap in pen? If not when do you put him in ?
I found since I let Zoey sleep with me she will nap in whatever room I am in. And it's usually in kitchen where she has a furry pillow pig she likes, but she still uses it with pee pads AND when Mr. sweeper wants to take a run thru. Ya all know what that's like! Bow wow...so she's not a stranger to it. When we go away we gate her in her area. You know where the steps go up to the low window so she can see out and floor is tile with pee pads ......and toys everywhere....
Pen is on lower level.....
