WHen Oliver was a little younger his stool was never consistant and it would always leave a MESS!! I always had puppy wet wipes near by (nature's miracle sells some) to wipe him after a messy potty time. THat way it never got too matted. Sometimes it did, though, and I would have to use a warm washcloth on the area massaging the mess out of his fur. After that, I would have Oliver sit on the toilet (it would be closed) with his butt hanging off the edge (my boyfriend would be holdin ghim in place) and I'd get on the floor and carefully cut the fur around his anus short. It didn't take but a few snips to clear the area (so don't get too crazy!!hehe)
