First, cut the hair short in the area to eliminate anything that can catch the poopy. Then try taking a WARM washcloth and wring it out but make sure it isn't too dry. Hold it gently to the butt area and then repeat until you have been able to get the dirt off. After that wash once again to make sure you have everything Finally, you can also use a baby wipe to freshen the area. If you need to clip more hair now the area is clean, do so. Everytime your baby goes poopy you must check and clean the area thoroughly. I make a game of it with my two. When they come in from outside they run into their room for a "Hiney Check." They know they will get a treat for being good babies and they feel and smell good afterward. Even the smallest piece of debris can cause them to be uncomfortable or drag their bottom on the floor.
