I suppose it just another way to get more fruits and veggies in your diet. The amount of fruit and veggies I put in my VitaMix I could never eat all in one sitting, or get sick of it before I finish. You need a powerful blender to make smoothies. VitaMix is the brand that most juice chain shops use. I went through a $40-50 blender a month for a few months before splurging on the VM. You put the more softer, watery ingredients and the bottom, the more firmer or frozen ones at the top. Some people here have had success with the Magic Bullet, but I can't barely even make a smooth hummus in mine with soft garbanzo beans in under 5 or 10 mins. The VM makes a very smooth smoothie in less than 1 min.

I say skip juicing. It's a machine that can only do one thing and it's pretty wasteful. You aren't eating any of the fiber.
