I attempted my first grooming of Piper. OMG...I suck and she is horrible!!! I have a beard trimmer and I put it on my hand before I used it on her to see if it would grab and it didn't. I go to use it around her bum and all the sudden she lets out a yelp and I see where it had nicked her.
I wanted to cry! Well, after that happened she would not have any of it. I did manage to get her ears done and used the little scissors around her girl part.
I need help!! How do I get her to let me try again? She even sees the clippers and she's under the bed! I'm scared to death to trim her nails because I clipped one of my roosters nails and clipped one too short and it bled like crazy. I'm afraid to use the little trimmers between her toes now for fear of it nicking her.
Any advise for a newbie self groomer!?! How do you hold them still and still be able to groom them?
